Received V8 Pro, but no retail box?

Okay, Sony is becoming very cheap. I ordered the V8 Pro special from their website for $149, and I receive no retail box. It came only with manuals and CD. Last time I upgraded to Vegas 7, it was the full retail package with box.

No I don't really need a box, but I usually keep them on-hand so clients can see that I actually paid for the software.

Is there anyone at Sony I can contact about this issue? Is everyone else receiving non-boxed versions?

No box delivered here either....just the quick manuals, and CD in a manilla envelope. I too, like to keep each version in it's own seperate box with any paperwork and activation codes that came via email once registered. That way I know exactly where everything is for a particular version in case of re-install at a later date.

I upgraded from Vegas 3 to Vegas 4 and Sonic Foundry did not send me a box - just the contents in a ziplock bag. (It must all be Sony's fault).

Does it matter whose fault it is?
The point I think is that having your product look its best is more in SCS's interest than ours.
I ordered the shipped upgrade and one Cinescore theme pack.
The former came in plastic bag, the later, a single disk, came in a nice looking shrink wrapped box. All that came in brown Fedex box.

Bottom line is I and many others here do our best to promote Vegas and it's a difficult task, we could use all the help we can get. I can't image that shipping the product in it's retail box would add more than $1 in costs.
The competition seems to get this point very, very well.

Yea, I was slightly disappointed when SF9 came with no box, so was expecting the same for Vegas8.

It was the only reason why I went for the shipped extra - as it would look nice on the shelf, next to my Cinescore, Adobe, Pro-audio and MS products. I'd quite happily have Sony send me the empty boxes on now in flat pack :) But then, it would have been nice to get a real SCVU certificate too....

Oh well....

So why did the bundle special of Vegas 7 and Cinescore come both in boxes?
