Recognizing blank CDs on a Yamaha 4416S

I've always loved CD Architect and burned away happily for
months under Win95 on my Yamaha 4416S. I recently upgraded
to Win98SE, tho, and for some reason now CD Architect
refuses to acknowledge the presence of blank CD media in my
drive. I've reinstalled SoundForge and CD-A as well as ASPI
to no avail. CDA still recognizes my drive fine as the
4416S and all the SCSI setting seem to be OK. Adaptec EZCD
reads blank CDs and burns fine. GRRR.

The most annoying part: I spent 1.5 hours mastering a new CD
project before realizing it would freak out on me like
this... (like I said worked fine under Win95b)

Anyone see a similar problem? Opinions?

Thanks!

P.S. I also thought I saw a reference somewhere to Usenet
newsgroups devoted to SonicFoundry, but now I can't find
them anywhere... (?)

The thing most likely to be changed which would affect things
is that a new version of Windows will replace your SCSI
miniport driver, possibly to some older or incompatible version.
Update the SCSI driver with the manufacturer of the card.
If this does not help, please contact our Support Dept.
directly.

We have a pretty thorough document that covers the most common
issues which come up using SCSI drives with CD Architect. It
is located in the Support section of the site under FAQ Database.

For some issues, It would perhaps be more efficient to just contact
us directly. The number here is (608)256-5555 and we answer (yes we
do answer) from 8AM to 7PM Central Time.
Or you can address Tech support email to us directly at
support@sonicfoundry.com and we will respond promptly.
