Recommend Screenblast Acid v. Acid Pro

Hope someone can help. Posted in the Acid forum, but not much response.

What I want to do is make music for video. Have previously used SmartSound (no longer have that prog.)

Will Screenblast Acid be satisfactory for my needs? Or do I need Acid Pro. I'm not into scoring, just need music.

Thanks for your help!

If you just need music, Screenblast should be fine.
Even if you outgrow Screenblast, I believe there's an upgrade path to Pro. You should check this with Sony first though.

You could even try Acid Express to start. It's free.

Next go to the loops section of the products and check out all the available loop CDs from Sony.
Here's a tip... there are a few samples of each library. You can download these (right clic-save as) and start playing around with Express and see how you like it.
I'd suggest the Cinematic Series, MaJaLe Saturn and Elsewhere, Liquid Planet, Slow Silhouette, and Numina. The last four are great for soundbeds and the first has alot of sounds associated with movies and such.

You can also check out www.acidplanet.com for works done using Acid. Download the available 8-Packs to use in Acid. There you'll get a taste of what's doable with Acid.

Screenblast is a more complete package of Acid, and Pro is the loop manipulation King of the Hill.
