Recommended size of still images?

I just purchased SMS Platinum v9. Is there a limitation on the size (pixels?) of still images?
I cannot seem to find it in any literature.
Is the size limited by the computer you have?

In the past, 2048 pixels square was the limit. Anything higher would create memory leaks.
It appears this bug has been dealt with, but perhaps it is wiser to stick to 2048.
