Recorded with Messed Up White Balance ...

I have a basic Panasonic Camcorder. From what I understand it does a white balance every time you turn it on. I suspect that for one of the my recording sessions - I had the Camcorder in a bad position (maybe even lens cap partially on) -and that whole session has the colors messed up - I yellow tint to everything.

Is there are way/what is the best way in Vegas - to take that entire take and "fix" it based on a re-definition of what "white" is -

Any suggestions?
Thanks
Allen

Use the color corrector. Get on youtube and do a search for it. It let's you select the whitest part of your image (what you think is white), then gray, then black and autocorrect colors from there. Then you can mess with gammas and brightness from there.

If it's past the point of no repair forget it.

If you're going to be using Vegas on a regular basis, go to the VAAST web site and purchase the excellent DVD on color correction. It's a real winner, and will show you (rather than just tell you) how do work in depth with the Vegas CC tools.

You'll find this especially useful in coming to understand the relationship between color correction and the several monitors (wave form, vector scope, etc.,) to be found in Vegas.
