recording and playback issues

I can't record my second track and listen to the first recording at the same time. The SIMULTANIOUS RECORD AND PLAYBACK function is enabled, but it seems like it's not working. Does anyone have an idea?
Also, why is that I can't hear the metronome when I record but when I playback the recording?

Someone please help me!
I'm frustrated to death!!!!

ps. I'm using Vegas Audio 2.0d with Delta 1010.
The operation system is WIN ME. 128MB. 1GB.

Hope you don't think this is a stupid question, but is your sound card Full Duplex? i.e. capable of playback and recording at the same time?

Her card is a Delta 1010.. That's 10 inputs and 10 outs if I'm not mistaken. I don't think there'd be any problems with it not being full duplex :)

Anyway, I'd suggest double checking the settings in the routing. Or the card may have it's own properties with settings to be adjusted there also?
