recording narration

I am trying to record a narration. I have plugged in my microphone. It works when I record narration in Windows Movie Maker. I follow the directions in the "Show Me" tutorials, the PDF manual download, and the little quick start manual, yet I get no sound when I playback the recorded narration. I'm arming, clicking record, etc., -- but nothing seems to be recording. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Pls check Control Panel + Sounds and audio devices + Audio and check that you have the right input for your mike under Sound recording.
At the same place pls also check Volume and that it is not muted.

As aoon as you have pressed the red Arm Recording button in the VMS track header you should be able to se the little meter below move when you speak... ?

PS: When you have made changes to the Sounds and audio devices you must disarm and arm in VMS to make VMS grasp the new setting.

Thanks for the tips. I think it was the last one that worked because everything else I already did, but it's working now. Thanks again!
