Recording while locked to incoming timecode

I've just purchased and installed a JL Cooper PPS-2 Synchronizer to convert incoming SMPTE timecode to MTC so I can lock to my video decks. It works great EXCEPT when I try to record audio while locked.

Audio recording is delayed by about a second. It seems to have something to do with the Advanced Sync Preferences and the Synchronization Delay Time.

Any ways of getting the recording nice and tightly in synch

Thanks in advance

Pre-roll isn't managing the incoming T/C slop? It should. I'm regularly synced to a DA-88 with a M-Audio 8x8 and I use a 5 second pre-roll. How far ahead are you buffering?
Do you have all your mem allocated to Vegas? Maybe allow less.

I've just found a thread on the Vegas Audio Forum which goes into this extensively
http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=19&MessageID=347234

But I'd be interesed in trying those settings - where do you set the the buffering and memory

Thanks DSE (are you an aussie as well - seem to remember something from a previous post)

Nah, I'm not an Aussie, I just spend a lot of time down unda. A friend has a Holden Monaro that I sorta like to scream around in.
I'll be in Sydney this coming July, then to Melbourne and other parts unknown, including Singapore and Malaysia.

I thought you guys called them Pontiacs - I guess they'd be just as fast.

I should say I'm using M-Audio Audiophile 2496 and when I go to the settings for my audio device the only mention of buffering is playback buffering which is greyed out.

I'm in Sydney, currently trying to get the facility I work in (audio post ) to move over to Vegas. Everyone was initially dismissive but there is so much WOW factor that they're now eating their words - especially when we now get so much work that is brought in as MPEG files.

You guys have some options available we don't have, and I don't know any one over here that has a modded' GTO. And the Pontiac in the US doesn't come with the racing options that the Monaro has.

Where do you have your sync offset? Try it at 5 frames, see if that helps?
