I just got this response email today from Red Giant:

"Red Giant Software, LLC" <No_Reply@redgiantsoftware.com>
Subject: Case Update: 3084 - Ensuring further compatibility
Update for Case #3084 - "Ensuring further compatibility"

James,
Sony Vegas will be a supported host application.
Read more here:
http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/newproducts.html#magicbullet3

When you follow that link, it states under Magic Bullet V3 Feature Summary: "Magic Bullet Looks lets users define the style of their video or film with powerful imaging tools in Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro/Motion, Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid, and Sony Vegas. The new user interface makes it much easier to create Looks and has 32 tools for doing everything from simple exposure adjustment to radical color changes."

Edit: so it gets me thinking (as I can picture a few "Chicken Littles" around here sheepishly picking up at least 1 or 2 pieces of the falling sky and realizing all isn't as it originally appears): given that many viewed the "non-support" of Red Giant as a sign of the Apocalypse, doesn't it conversely tell us that if a fine company such as Red Giant has Vegas on that short list of only FIVE NLE's that there is at least SOME future for Vegas?
