Most broadcasters do not accept digital files yet. Some cable systems use them, but they are MPEG-2 transport streams and VV can not output that. You need to print to tape. Print to DV or DVCAM. Some broadcasters will accept the DV if you make sure that the colors and audio are within NTSC bounds. (DV can go outside of those) In Orlando I generally have to take the DVCAM tape to a facility and have it transfered to Beta SP. Some stations will take S-VHS if you ahve that ability.
The key is call the broadcaster and find out what they will accept.
All stations I have dealt with accept 2 formats,, beta sp and digi beta.
Print to dv and have someone who knows what they are doing transfer it to sp,, ,,but of course ask what the station prefers first. chances are its beta sp.
Or rent a recorder for about 250.00 a day,,,simple to go from vegas to beta,, audio mixer and digital/analog converter is all you need,,,, best of luck!
Seems that some stations are getting a bit more modern. I have snatched a few news worthy shots, and the local stations just asked for a straight Mini-DV copy, they didn't even ask if I could transfer it to something else. They take it from there.
