Registering DVDA2

Enetered the serial number and run the program. Asks if I want to register online with full contact information and I select yes. It contacts Sony servers after about 2 minutes, says DVDA2 is registered. Do some work and close the program. Open the program back up and low and behold, asks if I want to register online again. Is this broke?

You wouldn't happen to be running the Service Pack 2 update for Windows XP, would you?

Yes, I sure am.

Yeah, this is a bug. It only happens with Windows XP Service Pack 2 (which has not yet been officially released by Microsoft), and it will be fixed in the next update.

Meanwhile, you should be able to fix this yourself if you don't mind a little poking around in your registry. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Media Software\DVD Architect\2.0\License and find your Activation Code. It will probably be under key2 - you can recognize it because it's the one without the hyphens. Copy that value into the CurrentKey and you should be all set. Please let me know if this fails to solve your problem.

Thanks,
Steve

Howdy Steve,

I tried your solution on my machine, but it didn't work. Arghhhhh. Do you have any other ideas? I keep getting asked to register, it says the registration was successful. When the splash screen appears, it says I have 30 days and upon restarting the program, I have to go through the process again.

Thanks for your help.

I'm not familiar with DVDA2 but I assume it has Register from another computer. This works and it's outrageouly easy if your e-mail's right in front of you.
I almost always d/l the reg file and judt double click it.

Hello,

I also have SP2 installed and getting the exact problem with DVD Architect 2. Is there a patch to fix this small bug? Thank you in advance.
