Hi everyone,

I have installed my sony vegas and evrything is working fine, When it asked do you want to register with this machine or with another computer, I chose ' another computer', as the one with the programme on does not have an internet connection, I now have a registration code to put into my original machine, but cannot do so, as under 'help' 'enter your seriel number' is blanked out and inoprative.
thanks for any help

Sony vegas movie studio 9, windows XP

Instead, under help, click on 'update user information'. I think you can put in a code there.

Once you choose "Register from another computer", when you click next, it saves a file and you are instructed to take that html file to another computer. You open that file on the other computer and get a code back. On the original computer, when you click "Next", it will then take you to a screen where you enter the returned code.

Since you now have the returned code, just go through the registration process again. Go ahead and choose "Register from another computer" which will save the file again but then just hit "Next" until you get to the screen where the returned code is to be entered.

NOTE: The returned code will ONLY work for that one computer.

It's been ages since i've used this method, but i remember when i have done it i also received a .reg file either to download from the registration site, or included in an email received a few moments later. On the computer that needs registering one can simply double-click this .reg file while Vegas is closed and it updates the registry. Vegas will then be registered the next time it launches.

Is the .reg file still included?
