Started this thread because my previous thread about Acid got locked. Does anyone know if/how Acid will combine with Vegas? Sony had all the forums in one place. Magix seem to be requiring a different log-in to access the Acid forum. Are the products now totally separate? Thanks.
Acid and Sound Forge are directly under the MAGIX brand, and not the VEGAS brand.
Still the same parent company and purchasing/licensing servers, but the sales and forums sites are on different domains. Magix audio forums are here. Sales site is http://www.magix.com
I *think* all the VEGAS software is still developed in Madison, USA, and the MAGIX-branded software is now developed in Germany, but I don't know that. It's a guess.
Not sure if that answers your questions about how the products "combine". I've never used Acid.
Thanks Nick, seems like Sound Forge and Acid will be diverging away from Vegas. I still use Acid. Some of the plugins will work in all three pieces of software. Acid 64 bit sounds like a good idea but since the license will probably follow suite with Vegas that will rule it out for me. It will be interesting to see if the loop packs make a come back.
