The weird thing about this is that it is redundant to Final Cut Studio owners who already have the functionality for AVCHD that this purports to offer.

Not sure how useful it is to iMovie, don't use it at all and can't stand the dumbed down interface.
If it assists by offering hardware acceleration for rendering then that's great.

However I don't like these specs from the Turbo.264HD :-
HD 1080p:
Video: H.264 Main Profile, 10 Mbps max., 1920×1080 pixels at 30 fps max.,
Audio: AAC-LC, stereo, 160 Kbps, 48 kHz

My take on it is it is made for all the 'Nadines' out there using iMovie... check out their website if you don't understand the reference to Nadine.

...and I realise I'm risking being branded an Apple employee by blink ;-}
