Remote Play and Enter disabled

DVD Architect 4.5 WIndows XP Home SP3

What I have: A project with one movie file, one menu, and one button (play) on that menu.

What I want: When this menu button is selected, I want the movie to start playing after any of these actions:
- Mouse-Clicking the menu button
- Remote's Play button
- Remote's Enter button

Problem: In the Preview screen (the virtual remote), Enter and Play are both disabled; they do not do what I want.

I can find no object property (or help documentation either) which helps me tell the menu what to do when these remote buttons are pressed.

How do I get the menu to respond to these actions?

I had assumed that, with only one button on the menu, the button was selected automatically (i.e., was the default navigation start point). I was mistaken. And since navigation buttons were disabled, I could never get to the button to activate it.

Problem solved.....sort of.

Even though I can now activate the button using the remote's Enter, this still cannot happen with the remote's Play (it is still disabled).

Remaining questions:
1. How do I enable Play on the virtual remote?
2. How do I set the one button to be the first (default) thing selected (but not activated) when entering the menu?
