A complete newbie to Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, I am getting to grips with it but cannot find any reference to how you remove gaps in the timeline (ripple) between the clips... i have seen the 'insert time' command but need this in reverse...?!!
There's a button to turn ripple on (or you can use "Ctrl+L" shortkey). Attached to the right side of the button is a little arrow, press it and make sure the option that says something like "ripple all tracks, markers, and regions..." is selected.
With this button turned on, you can drag an event to the left and everything will drag along with it, effectively closing a gap. I believe you can also set the loop region over a section and press "delete", and it will delete the region and ripple everything to the left.
The simplest way to set a loop region on an empty space is to double-click within that empty space. Then press the Delete key with ripple on and the gap closes up.
"Shift+click to all the clips you want and then move them manually where you want them, if rippling doesn't close the gaps."
in addition to having ripple turned on, it helps to have snapping turned on as well. that way you're not guessing at the exact point where the 2 clips involved should meet.
