Removing top black bars from a video

Hey guys!

I ran into a problem in some editing work I've done. I had a video that showed top black bars and when I use my Sapphire Plug-in (in this case s_shake) the whole video looks bad, because the black bars are also moving around.

Is there any way how I can separate the video from the black bars with masking or something else?

Did you read the manual, in this case the use of Pan/Crop?

Thanks for trying to help me, but that's not my problem in this case.

I try to edit a video that already has the "movie black bars" in it. I need some help to remove those.

Can you show us your problem by screenshot or screenvideo?
