Removing unwanted TIME

How do I shorten a gap of time on my timeline? I know how to insert using hte TIME insert, but do not know how to remove any from the beginning or in the middle of a project without adjusting everything.

I take it your time is blank? If so, select the blank area, turn on ribble edit (effects everything) and then hit the DEL key.

Make sure ripple is on, select the blank area, press Delete.
