Render as

I was wondering if there was a tutorial anywhere on best practise for rendering in preperation for use in DVDA or DVD-Labs (my tool of choice)

Currently i have been choosing PAL sepereated streams and making sure upper field first is set and leaving all other settings as default - but i was thinking that since my DVD player (lounge room one) is a cheapo, should i be thinking about lowering bit rates or any such things?

So i was wondering if anyone had written one on this topic, eg best way to export and import into DVDA to avoid re rendering and/or loss of quality, ease of use etc etc and maybe how accurately the preview window represents the final outcome? I can see frame by frame render (on my p866mhz) and i can clearly see the interlaced lines etc.

Now since the DVDR media i bought doesnt play in my regular TV dvd player and it plays only in my hacked XBOX, which plays only NTSC progressive, i am finding myself in a diffcult position with regards to testing at the minute and have to rush around to mates house and test there, untill 2 weeks from now when he swap met comes around and i can buy more media...which is why i wanted to continue editing and rendering projects leaving only the need to burn them when the media is available.

I don't have DVDA, but I have been told to leave the default settings alone for best results. I only change the bitrate to allow for more video on a DVD. The default setting only allows for about 1.5 hrs of video.
