Render As Window ???

OK, this one got me stumped.....
I have been editing for over a week on a HD project and decided it is time to render what I have sofar to burn to a BD.
I select the region to render and select 'Render As' from the menu.....

All I get is the window outline for the render as window, with nothing inside the window (as if transparent)
Anybody seen this ????

Sounds like time to reinstall Vegas. Hope that's all it takes.

Yes, that is what I am thinking. Was too late last night to try to re-install, but that is what I will do today.

Did you try a re-boot? In the "old days" this often temporarily fixed video driver corruption issues which often manifest themselves with this sort of behavior.

I had a similar problem a while back and BASTINO offered up the following advise...it fixed my problem.

I think it might be a problem with the default text size on the win 7 machine. You can set this is the display properties somewhere. The text is too big causing the window to not size correctly.

I had a very similar problem very recently on my new laptop with win7. It has a 1920x1080 LCD and to make the default text look big enough it came out of the box with the text size set at 125%.

This caused me a huge problem activating Boris Red. I would copy/past the activation code into the field but due to this text size problem it always cut off the last character and Red wouldn't activate. I was talking to boris tech support about getting a new code (which they can't do because it's tied to your mac address or something).

Finally I figured it out, changed the text size to 100% and the activation code fit and everything works. Then I changed it back to 125% so I can see the windows text. I see this causeing problems frequently very much like what the poster is seeing.

first I re-booted, did not work, then I re-installed, did not work...

It appeared my windows Aero was not working properly and it appeared to display as if basic windows 7 display.
I googled Aero problems and it came up with issues found if you have aero mirror displays in you device manager under display adapters.
I noticed I had 2 mirror displays, and un-installed them

then re-booted.

Now I got my render as window back again.

Kind of a strange problem but hopefully it helps someone else if they run into this problem.
