Render Crash VMS HD 11

Hello friends,

I have been using Vegas movie studio hd 11 for a while with no problems at all, and now, suddenly, I cannot stop crashing when trying to render video. it ussually crashes around the 50% mark. Before it had crashed intermitedly, but now it does it every time.

The video I am rendering now is Outlast: Whistleblower at 1080p 30fps. I was able to render the first 5 episodes (longest one being 17 minutes) with a few crashes, but now I cannot render at all anymore. Like I said, before this project I hadnt had any crashes during rendering

I am not sure what other information you guys need to help me out, but just ask and I'll provide it!

Thanks a bunch,

ohno

If it used to work but suddenly doesn't, it's usually an indicator that your computer needs some maintenance. (This is assuming, of course, that your new video is coming from the same camcorder as your old.)

Go to Windows Update, ensure Microsoft Update is enabled and ensure you have all of the latest updates -- including non-critical updates that don't install automatically. (You don't say what operating system you're working on, but I'm just assuming...) Also ensure you have the latest version of Quicktime from Apple and then go to the nVidia or ATI sites and ensure you have the latest drivers for your video card (don't trust Windows to do it).

Ensure your hard drive has at least 30 gigs of free space. Run Disk Cleanup. Run Disk Defragmenter. Clear the cache in your internet browser. Run CCleaner to clear out your registry. You'd be surprised how much junk clogs up your system after a year or two.

Yeah ive installed all updates, and my graphics card (geforce 770) is updated.

My drive has 2.5 terrabytes, and i dont think there is much lying around, since Ive just recently installed a new ssd and reinstalled windows. I dont think that thats the cause of the problems because ive rendered plenty of videos since getting the ssd and havent had any problems.

And yeah sorry, i have windows 7 home premium!
