render crashes

When I try to render as an AVI about 5 minutes of edited footage, I get an error about an access violation. The place where the code crashes is intermittant. It happens at 2 minutes or 5 minutes. (It may happen at other points, but I only did it twice when it started crashing.) The file size when it crashes is about 1.5G. I had no problem before I added a few extra titles and some music.

are you rendering to DV? the file size indicates that you might be rendering to uncompressed...

There is someone else with the exact same problem who posted to the forum. If you search using the words "render access violation" it is there.
