Unless I missed this in my sleep, would anyone else really enjoy having a "render to project folder" check box in the rendering options (down by networked computers etc).
I chop and change projects several times daily, and this would speed up things quite a bit.
I've noticed that Vegas 8 and Sound Forge 9 seem to be much, ummm, "stupider" than their predecessors about the default folder locations. Often from one save/render to the next i have to go back to the directory i was just using for the last one. The SONY programmers seem to be slipping deeper into the "everything must go in the My Documents tree".
Sound Forge 9 doesn't even remember that the current file has been saved! I record something, save it, click the X to close, and it prompts me to save the file again.
While pawing around in ACID 6's preferences today i discovered that one can set up over half a dozen default paths for various purposes. Looks like a handy feature that should migrate over to the other programs as well.
Yes, VP8 seems to have had a head injury when it comes to saving files. I'd really like to be able to set some default directories on a project by project basis, and also have it default to the current project folder if I move to another PC that doesn't have those paths.
I almost never put a file in the My Documents folder.
