Render GB Limit

Hi
Is there a 4GB limit when rendering to AVI?

My move is 30 mins long and I have attamepted to render it to AVI.
I can see by the preview window that it gose through the whole movie, but when i go to play it, its only 18min! Its stops there.
I think the problem is the size of the AVI file.
The rendered movie is 3.99GB in lenght. I want the whole move in AVI and not Meg.
Can i change something in the options to help me??

This is a stab in the dark - so I could be way off.. But wav files have a limit of about 4GB, hence the wav64 came into existence. If you are using wav in your avi - then that could be the problem. If you are, try using either wav64, or a different audio format. If not, not sure at this stage..

Wav files are limited to 2GB.

FAT32 is limited to 4GB. The problem you're seeing is that your hard drive is formatted with FAT32 instead of NTFS. I would suggest converting it to NTFS as it's a better file system, faster, less prone to errors, and has a file size limit of multiple terabytes.

If you're rendering to DV .avi then Vegas should be producing sequential files. The first .avi file should be about 18 minutes long, then the rest in another file with the same name but .001 added. There isn't any way around this while still using FAT32.

Check and make sure your file system on your hard drive is not FAT 32 if it is then that is your problem it will only support 4 gig files max. If it is you need to convert it to NTFS.

Yea - my bad about the 4gb/2gb limit. Long day crunching numbers..honest..
