Render HDV to MPG

What do I need to know about rendering HDV to Mainconcept MPG? What Bitrate? How do I maintain aspect ratio? How do I get my 90 min project to fit on DVD as MPG?

I currently import my HDV via Cineform Connect straight into their codec in Vegas6c. I set up my project settings per their manual, and render to DVD NTSC widescreen mpeg with Dolby Stereo using default batch rendering.
Works great. Your 90-minutes should fit easily.

I also use Connect-HD. The manual gives you the Vegas settings. I found that when i rebooted the system, then did the capture I had better results.
