Render in 8.0 v/s 6.0

I'm working collaboratively with someone who has only SVMS v6.0. I've got SVMS8 PE and SVMS v6. The project is in v6 format so that we can both work on it.

Source video is all MPEG-2 from two sources: Sony DVD DCR-DVD203 & Sony HDR-HC3 (HDV downconverted to SD), and the output for the project is NTSC DVD.

Should I just render this in SVMS v6, or should I produce the final render in SVMS8 PE? I wonder if the render is better in v8. I don't remember reading anything about this. Anyone have practical experiences with the differences in rendering?

Thanks.

I doubt that there are any major changes to the MPEG2 DVD rendering between 6 and 8 because the focus of these versions has been on HD and Vista support. Therefore, rendering from either one should be adequate. You might find that V8 renders a little quicker.

tdebey: You are correct in your statement that I would find v8 to be faster. SVMS6 took about 1hr 28min to render, whereas SVMS8 took 1:17, and that was in spite of me adding another 25sec of video in the v8 version of the project. I did not notice any differences in rendering but I did not look very closely.
