I am just starting a new project. Its about a min now with an introduction. I am trying to render for the first time using Tools -> Render to New Track or Preview in Player so taht I can see the output but I get a black and white video output with lots of dots on top of it as if its a filter or something.

The video plays fine in the preview window in vegas itself. Can someone help

Thanks

Have you tried to just do a render. Not a "render to new track"....just a:

File, Render as.....render?

If not - try it.

If so...what was the resulting video?

If you still get the same issues with a render....then we can start to troubleshoot the output.

In options/settings increase RAM preview and see what happen.
What kind of external preview do you have and does your video card support
2 monitors?.If does switch the monitors around and see what effect you have.

Thanks for all your help. Actually it seems it was the file I was trying to render, somehow it gives me error with my DirectX when I open the file in vegas. I tried a brand new file with the same media and it worked super.

Thanks again and sorry for that
