I MAY have found a reason why my project gets errors and cannot render using the Sony AVC/MPEG-2 formats and BR templates.
My project includes the following files:
Sony AVCHD m2ts (and some .jpg files from this camera); plus some .jpg files and .mov files from a Cannon camera; and .jpg and .mpg files from an HP camera.
So, .......I started a new project with only some of those m2ts and .jpeg files taken with JUST my Sony HDR-CX12. It was only about 4 min long. Rendered fine and burned the AVCHD content, with 5.1 surround sound onto a DVD! (using VMS plat 9.0b)
I also rendered a 6-minute portion of the ORIGINAL project, including all the DIFFERENT source files via the safe codec (Sony AVI, 1080-60i).
But now learned I have to convert that standard def AVI file into a AVCHD file so I can burn onto a blu-ray (a forum member just recommended a particular program to do this). I now know that I need DVDA5 to do this as well.
1)Has anyone else attempted to render/burn a project with different source files in it - from different cameras?
2)Can I somehow do this without rendering in safe codec and converting?
3)Will VMS 10 or Vegas Pro allow you to accomplish rendering a project with different source media?? Has anyone out there tried this?
Please help - I'm almost there!
