Render Size

I am running Windows 98. My file sizes are around 1.2 gig for only 5-8 minutes of video in .avi. What can I do to get a smaller size?

That's the going rate for AVI. You want to render to some other (more compressed) format, depending on your final use. MPEG1 for VCD or CDRom, WMV for web, MPEG2 for DVD, etc.

What is your final product going to be?

Excellent!
Four different applications for the final product.
CD, MiniDV, VHS, and computer.
Any other Ideas?
