Render speed

Alexey-Yermolaev wrote on 12/17/2020, 1:24 AM

Why is rendering speed in Movie Studio 17 Platinum Build 204 of 3 hrs long file 1080p takes 1hr 40 min and not 16 min? with MAGIX HEVC/AAC MP4 internet HD 1080p 29.97 fps (NVIDIA NVENC) profile where I just lowering bitrate video from 3k to 1k and no other adjustments? It looks like any profile renders at the same speed using or not GPU acceleration. Maybe Nvidia 2070 Super (driver version 460.89) or this CPU QSV is not supported?

GPU acceleration of video processing here is enabled: "Options" menu > "Preferences" > "Video" > "GPU acceleration of video processing"

CPU load 86-90% by this task only
GPU load 30-45%

Pinnacle Studio 23 did this job in 16 min and it did this with CPU load ~30% and GPU load ~90%

My pc specs - intel 9900K 16G RAM and NV 2070S Win 10 Pro 20H2

For the render of a 3 hours project in FHD to FHD all renders faster than 3 hours are good and fast.

))))))))))))))))) are you kidding? my 3hrs projects in Movavi and Pinnacle finishing in 10-16 min!

j-v wrote on 12/17/2020, 7:21 AM

No kidding at all.
Why are you using Vegas to render to FHD HEVC if you don't like the way it renders.
Stay with Pinnacle if you like that more this way.

I didn't say i don't like the way it renders - i would like it or AVC or any other to render as fast as 10-16 min as other programs do. Is where settings i can use to do the same job in this program to have such fast speed? - to fully load my video card and see how frames fly like crazy? Or slow slow slow slow rendering it is the nature of Vegas and turtle style is the way it supposed to be?
So all i want is speed - any ideas?

j-v wrote on 12/17/2020, 11:28 AM

Sorry to tell you but rendering, with your fast machine with a good Nvidia GPU and Studio driver, from a 3 hour project with AVC to the same dimensions HEVC in 1 h 40 min is pretty fast and most here don't get that , also not with the latest Pro version. So take it or leave it.

Maybe you should screen capture with a constant framerate instead of variable framerate. VMS doesn't like VFR, also smart resampling will become active (when not manually disabled) and will slow down rendering speed.

Tried VBR and CBR - results are the same. Thank you for suggestion. I so love this program but I didn’t seen it perform as fast as other programs on the market yet. I’m just curious if it possible, but it’s ok if not.

I'm not talking about VBR or CBR (BITRATE) but about VFR and CFR (FRAMERATE), huge difference.
