Render stops with DJI Phantom Render

kirkdickinson wrote on 12/8/2015, 4:10 PM
I have a short video I am working on in Vegas 13. It has photos a the beginning, then in the middle of the project has video shot from DJI Phantom 3 Pro. When it hits that video, it just sits there. I left it go 3 hours and it never got past 22% rendered.

I have a Hex Core i7 with 32Gig ram, and it should smoke a 9 minute video render.

Not sure I understand why this stops it? No error, it just seems to hang. I can't stop the render with the cancel button. I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to kill it.

Could you upload a sample so that others could take a crack at it?

I made a mistake with the original post. I wasn't shooting 4K that day. The file is still 2.13 Gig. I don't think I have any good place to upload a file that big. My dropbox account is too full and I don't have an FTP that big.

I tried two different output render formats and they both failed.
MainConcept AVC - Sony Tablet 1080p
Sony AVC - Internet 1920x1080-30p

I'll have to see if I can find a place to stick it.

Don't upload 2.13 GB. A few seconds may be enough since the render doesn't get very far into the failing video.

Is Quicktime loaded or does Vegas handle this on its own?

Further testing. It isn't locking on the video after all. I have a photoshop file in there that it doesn't like. Aparently. Locks at from 944 which is dead in the middle of an image file. Never gets to the DJI footage.

I have put Photoshop files on Vegas timeline for years and never had a problem with them. I will resave this file and see if that makes a difference.

This photo was the last photo before the video, so I assumed that it was locking immediately when it hit video and left that photo on the screen. But am pretty sure that the photo is the culprit right now.

Roger Miller said it best back in the sixties:

"First time for everything,
mmm my ears still ring.
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug"

Save as .PNG.

Yep, PSD file the cause. Replaced that one with a JPG and it rendered right on past it immediately the next attempt.

Good!
