Render Template

I don't really know if I'm doing this the right way. I have a Sony HC9 (uses tape) which shoots in 1440-1080. I'm shooting interviews for our church which will be shown over a video projector to a large auditorium. Because my camera shoots in 1440-1080 I capture the video in HDV 1080-60i (1440 x 1080, 29.97fps). I have to get the finished product into .mp4 or .mov format - our video man uses all mac software. I tested a m2ts file and it will not work.
The only Render Template that works for me is Main Concept AVC/ACC, Sony Tablet 1080P or Internet 1080P. Using any other MP4 template crashes the program. I've already set the render template to render from CPU only and also turned off video acceleration but still cannot render from any other MP4 template.
I tested the SonyTablet MP4 over the video projector and it seems to look fine but is there is a better way? A side point, rendering in Sony Tablet 1080P is very, very slow.
Given my equipment and software constraints would you make any changes?
Thanks,
JC

MP4 is one of the more widely accepted formats. You could render to a MOV file, but I don't think you would find the render times any faster.

Unless you have a long time to get this done, I would say that "Finished is better than perfect."

If the Mainconcept AVC/MVC render templates work, then use one of them and get the project out the door. I would use the Internet template and push the average bit rate up to 15 mbps or a little higher. Other options are Handbrake and MeGui.

Then, come back and search the forum for comparisons of the different render templates that produce MP4 output. Here is one place to start for low bit rate playback. More bits cures a lot of ills.

Thanks for responding to my questions. John, I took your advice and used the Sony Internet 1080p to render my video. I had to upgrade to SV 13, did not have the Sony Internet option in SV 11-had only the Main Concept Internet option. Tried Handbrake but at this time I think I'm more comfortable with SV. I also looked at the videos rendered in different MP4 formats, I think my eye is untrained as they all looked good to me.
Also, flirting with the idea of a new camera. Looking at the PXW-X70 and NX100, thought I would stay with Sony since I already have other Sony equipment.
