Render templates

pioneer109 wrote on 8/27/2023, 10:23 AM

Good afternoon forum members. I have just watched a video on YouTube re vegas20 and the author talks about the render settings showing an equals sign matching your project settings against a pre-set. I don't have this and I have never seen it in settings anywhere. Have I missed something along the way? I have attached a file showing this. Its no big deal I was just curious. Many thanks John

@pioneer109 Hi, you do have an = sign on templates further down, check your project Properties & you'll find it's set at 1080p 59.94.

@pioneer109

Check for filters on the drop-down box in the render template.

@Gid Sorry mine was a screenshot from the online video. @john_dennis your screen shot shows 2 equals sign without a filter set. Thank you both for replying anyway. its no big deal I was just curious. John

@pioneer109 Hi, so did you resolve your issue? if not can you share a pic of your render options?

If your project settings match a preset you'll see an equal sign. Use unusual project resolutions and framerates? Save your own render template and you'll see an = in the future.

I thought I need new glasses, but you definitely need them. Take a look at the last two render templates in your screenshot, to me they have equal signs.

@3POINT As I explained in an earlier comment it was not my PC screenshot it was the online Video I had been watching on YouTube. So perhaps it is you who need new glasses to read the previously submitted comments. Thanks anyway for taking the time by trying to assist.. Cheers John

The simple answer would be that no render templates actually match your project settings.

We have had several requests (and do have on our list of things to implement) to make a function which would create a template based on your project settings. The overall reality is that our export/render workflow is quite dated and the use of templates like we have is just not very user friendly. We are considering several new export UI options that we could implement in the future as we research a larger UI/UX refactoring effort.

@Former user Yes I did resolve things. Thanks for your suggestions which helped me. Cheers John

Just implement Voukoder standard into to Vegas!

@pioneer109 I read only your first comment.where you explained and showed a screenshot of your issue. For that I don't need new glasses.

Voukoder as part of commercial software requires paid licenses for all the codecs it uses.

The codecs that Vegas is using at the moment requires probably also paid licenses, so what's the difference.

Voukoder implementing manually is for free.
