I have a project that is of 1hr 6mins duration.
When I used the button 'Make Movie' and choose settings of Burn to DVD/Blue Ray disc, DVD with menus and widescreen format in the two fields above the formats mpg (video) and ac3 (audio) are already filled in. Proceeding to 'Render' the entire movie is rendered in a time of 2hrs 4mins.
However, choosing the option 'Render As' and choosing exactly the same settings the render process takes a staggering 6hrs 22mins just for the video. I than have to go back and repeat the exercise once again for the audio which thankfully takes only 1m 46sec. So, 6hrs 22mins to produce an ac3 file of 2.72GB compared to the 2 hrs it took to produce the same size file using the 'Make Movie' option.
I'd be interested to learn as to why this considerable time difference should exist in one application.
