Hi Thanks for helping ages ago with print to tape problem The DMA setting was not on solved the
fliker and sporadic recording to tape.Athalon 500 slot A on fic Motherboard.

New problem is that my render times are horendously long 10hrs for a 16 min clip with only moderate
editing. Surely thjis cannmot be normal?

Baracuda 7200 rpm 30gb drive WINDOWS PARTION ON SAME DRIVE ??? COULD THIS BE THE
PROBLEM? Using Win98SE 128 mg Ram SD. Everything else works fine no dropped frames. File sizes
are aprox 3.1 gb I use the DV Pal setting to render.

I find the manual to be very sparse.

Any help ap[preciated

Perhaps you have motion blur enabled or resample all video
checked? This would greatly increase the render time, as
would tons of FX. Maybe you can turn those off?

Also, doing a conversion of NTSC video (or MPEG etc) to PAL
will take awhile- everything has to change.

As a test, you might start a new project with PAL DV
footage, just 2 5-second clips and a 2-second crossfade,
and render that to PAL DV using the stock PAL DV template.
If that takes longer than 2 minutes,it could be a system
problem. If that goes fast, it's most likely a combination
or render settings and media attributes bogging down the
render time.
