Render times in 64-bit not as advertised

I have Vegas 8.1 and both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of 9.0c installed, and have found that the 32-bit version is shockingly faster at rendering. For example, in an experiment using a 22:30 timeline with three VST plugins in use, rendering to mono 128kbps mp3 takes around two minutes in the 32-bit Vegas 9, whereas the same project takes over 5:10 to render in either 64-bit version of the program. When 8.1 came out, Sony released an email newsletter with an article referencing reduced render times in general. Specifically, the article led one to believe that render times were cut roughly in half in a best-case scenario. Imagine my frustration when I invested in a 64-bit machine, found 8.1 to be too unstable to use, paid to upgrade to 9, found it to be too unstable to use, and the icing on the cake was that render times had more than doubled! I have patiently utilized the proper channels for well over two months to request support for this and numerous other issues, but am still exactly where I started -- sorry that I have wasted so much time and money when Vegas 8 on a 32-bit Vista machine was a perfectly stable setup. As a Vegas user since 2001, I can see no other way to receive the proper attention to these concerns than to openly air out my complaints before the moderators and readers of this forum.

Randy--

Thanks for the heads up. I also have been a long time Vegas user. I was actually in the middle of considering an upgrade to 64bit windows w/ Vegas 9 but will now hold off. Sounds like the audio hasn't really changed at all since Vegas 7...

Maybe Vegas 12 will finally add BWF support.

I keep checking, but we're still stuck with version 9b. I was contacted by one of the forum moderators a while back in order to provide hardware info, but never heard back after I replied. And silence from the ticket I opened months ago. To quote Roz from Monsters, Inc., "Your stunned silence is very reassuring."
