Rendered file size

I have been using VF since version 1, ver 2 and now screenblast ver 3. With ver 1 & 2 I could render a file for a 2 hr movie. I find that I can't do that now with Screenblast 3. I did a search on the list and find that VF 3 does not support the AC-3 audio compression as it did before which makes the file larger. When a person upgrades to a newer version of a program I would expect all the old features along with new ones and not have something left out. I still have VF 2 on my machine but since I loaded ver 3 in a different directory it will not render the smaller size file anymore.
I edit my movies in VF and after rendering use Ulead DVD movie factory to add menus and burn which always has worked out very well.

My question is are there any work-arounds that I can do and still edit my movies is VF which I always have been very happy with. When doing a 2 hour videotape it ususally doesn't work out very well splitting it onto 2 DVD's.
