Rendered video longer than actual video

I have an 8 minute video. When I render it I get a wmv file 32 minutes long. I don't have any media left over in my work space after the 8 minute mark. Do I need to mark a video end point? What am I missing? Thanks.

What is on the extra 24 minutes in the wmv file? Assuming it is black video, double click on the clip on the timeline to establish a selection, then right click on the selection bar to select the project. Make sure the beginning and end points match what you want by dragging the yello triangle.
When you render check "Render Loop Region Only"

In the timeline press the far-right-arrow and probably you will be surprised to see a marker or something out there at 32 minutes :-)
Could happen using ripple edit.
