I assume these clips are for broadcast? It seems several options might end up working but wouldn't it ultimately be dependent on what codecs are installed on the other computers?

Generally speaking for PC, I think AVI first and Quicktime second when I approach this kind of need.

Thanks Erik.

The specific task for now is I have edit something in Vegas 8 and I want to be able to import it into Edius on another PC, not for broadcast. For DV I have no problems, I just use the MS codec, but on HD i am not sure.

Thanks.

Why would you use the Microsoft DV codec when it is so horrible? You've already got the SONY DV codec which is amazingly good.

I did a quick Google and it appears that Edius accepts MXF. Would that work ok for you?

Sure thing, Erik - I'll give it a try - thanks both for your input - much apreciated :-)

Sounds good. Let us know if it works out for you.

Hi Erik

I tried, but it seems that I can only get 1440 x 1080 out of MXF in Vegas 8?

Thanks.

Well, I found that Vegas 9 have the 1920 x 1080 MXF option. It worked great, and we got it into Edius as well - Thanks again.
