I'm new to this so go with me..

Say I have a slide show or capture video of camcorder.
What is the best format for DVD to be written to for the best output when I get ready to render as? Mpeg, Mpeg2 or Avi when I get ready to put to DVD Arch??

Also capture of video if I have a DV tape capture as DV or HDV?.
Is there a difference?? Since its only DV quality

DVDs are always MPEG2.

If you do this in Vegas you can render as a DVD Architect video stream. This will render just the picture. You then do another pass to render the audio as either Wav (PCM) or AC3. Give both the same name and put them in the same folder. DVDa should detect the audio when you import the video, and with any luck DVDa won't try to reencode either file.

The other option is to just import the AVI and let DVDa reencode it.
