WMV should actually be slower than mpeg2. WMV is a slow codec to encode, at least the version that Sony has licensed.

thanx for yr advice - i have used sony vegas for ages but am scared of most of it lol i tend to make a vid with effects then render it - am not good with manuals lol

The rendering to wmv goes significantly faster if you make sure that you always render only one time each time you have started VMS.

thanx - i am a novice really and it does seem complicated to me, i am managing to combine 3 layers of video with effects so cant be doing too bad lol having said that it takes ages to render the finished video
