One simple thing you can do is to highlight a portion of the timeline as a loop, then "Render loop region only" when rendering. This will create an output file of just the highlighted section. After this render is done, drag the yellow triangle marker at the left of the loop to the right, past the right triangle, to select the next section. This section section will start at the next frame after the end of the first section. Continue until you've rendered the whole project in pieces.

I'm guessing you'll probably want to split the project into 5 pieces of about 12 minutes each.

If you are using Vegas 4, I wrote a script that will render in roughly 1 Gig segments. Do a search in the scripting forum for posts by me referencing RenderSegs.
