rendering a file

after i have finished editing and im ready to render to upload video to Youtube.... how can you make sure there is a stopping point on the video. this has never happened, but i have a 2 min video that loads as a 10 minute video because the clock won't stop. the video stops, the credits have rolled, the music stops, but the clock keeps going. i didn't notice it until after i uploaded video from phone to igtv. i tried just saving to desktop as a mp4 and it still keeps rendering as if there is content. but there is not.

Check on your timeline around 10 minutes to see if you have a stray event, video audio or a marker. Usually Vegas knows when a project has ended. You may need to zoom your timeline it to see a small event.
If you can't find anything, then select the area you want to render and choose RENDER SELECTION option.I don't have VMS so I don't know exactly where that shows up.

@Chris-Royster  Have you clicked on the 'Go to end' icon to see where your playhead goes to?

A screenshot of your timeline would be helpful. Upload using the icon.

This is a long shot, but if you have the loop region longer than your video

AND Render Loop Region Only selected in Render Options,

that could also cause this.

At the very least, it was good practice for me uploading screenshots.
