It depends on which output option you've selected.

What are you outputting your movie as and how do you plan to share it? On a BluRay or DVD? Online? As part of another HD movie? This will determine which Render As option you use.

A 70 minute high-def M2TS video should be around 14 gigabytes.

Please post back with your project properties, the kind of media you are using, the format to which you are rendering, and the ultimate delivery format for the project (DVD, Blu-ray, YouTube, etc.).

Those details affect the advice you receive and ultimate affect how your project renders.

An uncompressed format HD file could easily be 500GB/hour. Obviously you didn't choose a compression codec.

Thanks this is the first time i have used Vegas so i didn't change any of the default settings when i opened the new file to start.. I think it said HD1080-60i,1920x1080 29,970 fps. Output was AVCHCD saved to hard drive, I would like to burn it a DVD. Is is possible to change these setting/compress etc now that i have finished and how do i do it? Thanks for your help!!

i imported media from a sony camcorder full hd avchd and movies and pictures recorded in 1920x1080

Yes, of course .. but you realize that a DVD is Standard Definition, not HD.
