Rendering as ".mov" creates HUGE files

I normally render to WMV, MP4, or compressed AVI's, but thought I'd try out rendering to MOV.

It's a 3 minute video, that is about 14MB as an MP4, but it came out to over 7.5GB, yes, gigabytes when I rendered to MOV. (the default MOV setting which I think is 512 Kbps).

Is this how it's supposed to be?

If I recall, it defaults to uncompressed. Did you change any of the MOV parameters?

Yep, that was it.

I changed it to the 3Mbps option and it made the file about the same size as rendering to WMV does, thanks.
