What to do?

For now, do the one thing that works: Rename the tmp file to .mp4.

Meanwhile, try to figure out what is wrong and fix it.

In the past (using Sony's version 13), I came across this twice. What was happening in my case was that at the end of the render, "Approximate Time left..." was reading 0" but the "Elapsed Time..." was still counting up. I would close the render box and ended up with a .tmp file. After changing to .mp4 the file played perfectly. I have since installed Vegasaur and now upon completion a pleasant voice announces "Render Complete" and all is well. Depending on the size of the video, it sometimes takes another 5-10 minutes after the approximate time left shows 0 before it is actually complete.

Is this happening for all projects using that render template? Even something simple.

I already did that renaming.

But it is not my job or have the time to figure bugs out or certainly not to fix them, my job is to deliver movies to my clients and certainly not hanging out on forums...don't have time for that.

I do understand software has limitations and bugs, but if it's main feature (rendering) doesn't work ...

This is hangingrender-issue is hanging around for years (!) now, never had experienced myself..till now.

I only create mp4 files and architect-mpeg files. Don't have issues with short mp4's or the mpeg. My mp4-template is the same for years, day in, day out: 1920x1080/progressive/25p...never had issues in previous vegasversions

Check the 'Encode Mode' setting in the Customize Template selection.  Is the mode something like 'use GPU if available' or 'use OpenCL if available'? I had one of these selected recently in VP13, and exactly the same thing happened - the rendering process just did not end.

Changing the encode mode back to 'Render using CPU only' enabled the rendering process to complete properly, and rendering was no slower.

Thanks but i know this solution for years (just like the problem) Dexcon. I choose always "using CPU only"....just to prevent this issue. In fact every vegas knows this issue, everyone knows what to do, but no ones can solve it. The encode-modes are a useless feature or it can create troubles.

What makes you think it is a bug? If it was one, we would all be experiencing it, or at least many of us would. Most of the problems people have with Vegas come from the problems with their own system. Such as a wrong driver or some spurious hardware, etc.

And that is something only you can figure out (hopefully with our help).

Besides, if you really think it is a bug, why are you talking to us? This is a user-to-user forum. You need to report bugs to Magix, not to us.

This forum isn't created by Magix you say? There ain't no Magix people here? I have bought a Windows 10 and vegas 14 and the cannot render problem is my fault? The main goal of vegas: rendering movies.... Doesn't work.... But it's forbidden to mention it?

Not true! Works perfectly fine here.

Oh yes... Forgot to mention.... Quick sync.... Doesn't work also. It seems my machine is too new.

Oh, come on, nobody says it is your fault. But I personally will not answer any of your further questions. I don’t to be yelled at by someone I’m trying to help.

That by itself should give you a hint that something has changed in your system. Possibly a Windows update that included a driver update.

BTW, what anti virus software are you running?
