Something's weird. MPEG1 is just about the best format to use for powerpoint. It should have worked. What template and custom settings did you use?

What is 'V9'? WMV perhaps? This is a good choice too. Again, which template and custom settings?

The template and custom setting I have used is VCD pal. I got the idea of trying V9 from a previous message on this forum -

Also when I look at the file properties it still says 'vf' (video file) not mpeg1 after rendering - as if nothing had changed. Makes me wonder if I've left out a step between editing and rendering?

Ahhhhhh. .vf is your Vegas Movie Studio project file, which is what you get when you use File / Save, not File / Render. If you're curious as to why it's ".vf" it's because the program started life under the name "Video Factory". If you're trying to use this file in powerpoint then you're grabbing the wrong file.

The MPEG file will have a .mpg extension and the WMV file will have a .wmv extension. You must find these to use in powerpoint.
