YouTube converts everything to Flash, though it doesn't allow a Flash video as an upload option (though I've heard there is a complicated way to do it). Flash, anyway, is the one format Vegas doesn't render to BUT I've read and had good results rendering to WMV file with these settings:
512 Kbps Video
Custom: Project: set video rendering quality to Best
Custom: Video: set Video smoothness to 100.

WMV is similiar in it's encode to Flash (MPEG1/2, MOV are not) so when you upload and YouTube converts it, it gives you the best optimum results. Plus the file size you upload has to be under 100MB and 10 minutes in length which fits perfectly with these WMV settings.

I've got some of mine I did this to at: www.youtube.com/bsinks01

I've had success with the WMV on YouTube, but recently I produced a promotion video in widescreen, and YouTube's re-render into Flash really seemed to mess up the aspect ratio. Any suggestions with widescreen to YouTube?
