Hello -
I recently purchased the FireStore FS-4 Pro. It works well with my Canon GL-2, I am happy to report. I am also happy to report that it seems to work well with the Vegas 6 program as it can be configured to be viewed as an extra hard disk drive to the computer.
I am configuring, for the first time, the FS-4 Pro as an extra hard disk drive. I'm "editing" the AVI Type 2 DV files found on the FS-4 Pro using Vegas 6. I am ready to render the "Vegas 6 edited" files found on the FS-4 Pro to a dedicated "Final Mix" directory on my computer's hard disk drive. This is all in preperation for a DVD (using DVD Architect 3).
Here's my question:
What field order should I use? Should I use the "Progressive Scan"? The "Lower Field First" scan?? The "Upper Field First" scan??
The FS-4 Pro seems to have the DV files configured to "interlaced".
Please understand that I am no expert in DV recording and editing. I barely grasp the concept of field scans and DV codecs. Heck. I am happy to be able to configure the FS-4 Pro to work with the Canon GL-2 and even happier to have it work with Vegas 6!!
Your thoughtful responses and any further comments/suggestions on working with the FS-4 Pro and Vegas 6 program together will be gratefully and respectfully accepted. Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
Ted
