Rendering Hardware

Hi everyone,

I've been using Vegas 3.0 for about a 1 1/2 years now and love it. I didn't upgrade to version 4.0 because I didn't really need all of the new features. I am also currently using Matrox 100 xtreme to do all of my color corrections and special effects transitions, but I hate using Premiere.
Now that Sony has aquired Vegas, does anyone know if a Rendering Hardware would be in the works.

Thanks

That is still my dream. I use Canopus DV Storm/Premiere but am starting to use Vegas on as many projects as possible because it is such a well thought out editor. Regardless of what some people say though, true realtime does have some nice workflow benefits and I think it would bring over many new professional users to Vegas. If a realtime card does not come out soon I am going to either get a smoking new computer or take a serious look at the Avid Mojo.

The AVID Mojo is good value for the price. Only limitation with AVID is its audio editing capability is very poor but if you hang onto Vegas and Sound Forge you can edit your audio with them, same as we do.

There is something to be said for real time but I detest using AVID's GUI (spent a few years at it before rising to Dept. Head) and get stomach pains even thinking about using it. However, AVID Media Composer is fast and stable and a good editor can churn out product very quickly.

Please, please, please Sony, let us have a Rendering card with Vegas. This will blow all the competitors away. With your reputation of making reliable consumer and profesionnal products, I'm sure a Rendering Card would be a cake walk for your engineers to build.
